Had the honor of presenting two LONG on ART awards recently for the Scholastics Art Awards at Hawaii State Art Museum. My winners were Poli`ahu Wells from Kahuku High and Alwyn Matthew Agustin from Mililani High. Also pictured is Jonathan Johnson, Director of The State Foundation on Culture and the Arts. This is the third year that I have sponsored my LONG on ART awards.  The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards do not come with any monetary reward, so several artists sponsor additional awards with financial benefits for the students as well.  There were 2500 entries just in the Hawaii portion of this prestigious national competition.  Previous winners were Andy Warhol and Robert Redford(for writing).
