Finished another commission... 11" x 14" Acrylic.
Sweet looking dog with a smile!  :)  I keep trying to work on backgrounds and making better compositions.. I'm always looking for more ideas on that...

A really good painting John.  :painting:    With my limited experience, MY choice of background would  be minus the flowers, seems to distract me, especially the left side of the painting. The grass and shrubs work well.

What a friendly fella :smitten:

I also quite like that you have left the flowers in, it adds to the friendliness as flowers are friendly.

I am glad you left the edging out as that would have competed with the dog colours O0

Yea... its always a struggle to try and make the main focus point stand out... I saw those beautiful flowers in the original source photo and thought I'd put them in... They do kinda compete with Riley as the main focus..I did try to blur them out some so they didn't stand out too much... Appreciate all the comments and ideas I can get...  :painting: :thankyou:

Beautiful painting! But I have to agree with Bill, the flowers are catching some attention in the painting.
But, I find the flowers flow well with the smiling dog.
