🤔🙄 difficult decision considering the exercise is about painting folds.
The dress of the Lady-in-Red, has many different folds with a variety of nuances, but defined and flowing, added to that, there are the changes in the folds caused by the steps. Her headdress is another challenge, but she is standing still. On the whole, the picture is dark. The challenge draws me, though.
In the 2nd painting, the lady’s dress has numerous subtle folds, some only detected by looking closely at the picture. Then there is her dance partner, of course
Here, there is movement and an advantage of a light coloured outfit enhanced by a darker one.
