Hello everyone. Here are my first drawings from this course. Comments welcome.  O0

I quite enjoyed doing this one.

The ball on the left is my first attempt and the one on the right my second attempt.

Then I had a go at doing 3 of the 4 from the photo provided. The reflections were a bit of a challenge.

 :thankyou:

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments. I think the drawings look even better when photographed but also lighter than the original. Does anyone else think this? I will add a few more drawings to my album that I've already done from this course for comment later.

Photographing art is an art on it's own :D
You seldom get it looking exact then when you do get it exact, it looks different on the next person's monitor :crazy2:

Looking forward to seeing your other artworks. (Just post them here then all your course drawings remain together O0

Next project was the Berries. I saw that and thought 'I don't like doing flowers'. I initially had to work out how to do the veins. Then as I got into the shading I really enjoyed it and found it very relaxing to do. I took my time over it and came back to it a couple of times, which gave me a new perspective and I saw where things needed to go a bit darker. Overall, I was very pleased with this effort.

Thanks for your comments everyone. :)

Next up are the rocks. The concept of the planes was a bit more difficult as I got a bit mixed up with regards to which way the plane lines should go. Most of the vertical ones I understood, but for some of the horizontal lines I would have gone the opposite direction (ie 90 degrees to what was suggested)! Anyway, this is my effort. Again the photo looks a lot lighter than the original!

I decided to have a go at one of the extra exercises at the end of the lesson to see how I got on. I liked this one and concentrated on the middle section.

Your plane rocks look great

If you got your lines 90 degree different that is great. That tells me you understand and can see the plane lines. You will soon see when cross hatching that you draw at 90 degree angles anyway  :)

Thanks Nolan. I may have another go at this one and try doing it my way. It was on the flat top surfaces where I would have changed the direction of shading. It will be good to experiment and see how each looks.
