I am just missing some contrasts. When you look at an artwork you always want to see highlights, mid tones and shadows as these add the illusion of the sun into the scene and add depth and dimension to the objects in the scene.
Take a look at the leopard's face for example. Look at the tonal values beyond the spots. At this stage there is only one tonal value when comparing the left, centre and right of the face. As the face is round you would expect a gradual shading from light to dark (as though you were shading a ball.

When drawing a leopard drawing without the spots by adding all the shadings. This gives you the shape of the animal (3D effect), then add the spots O0

For now you can use a pen shaped eraser (like a Tombow Mono) to add highlights and a 8B to add shadow tonal values O0
