Overall I am satisfied with this second attempt (with the face), still frustrated with the skin tones though. I might do a larger painting just of the upper body.
I made the mistake of using Sellotape to mask the stripes. It left adhesive which was difficult to remove, hence the shoddy background.

I wish I had another hour in the class to show the finishing of the painting as it is the final bit that brings it all together, but the class was already much longer than normal

Hi Nolan, you had gone through all the techniques etc ... just a matter of absorbing it and lots of practice. Here is my 2nd attempt at skin tones on 30 x 30 cm canvas.
