A pseudo-cubist style I adopted many years ago... Simple shapes and a fun model to work out colout harmonies and shading,,, also a good exercise for people starting out with oils to explore the "fat over lean" principle

Very nice and original!
The moment you find yourself mostly satisfied with a painting and think you'll "just quickly" do this or that, that's the moment to stop completely. Take the painting off your easel and put it aside for at least 24 hours, then reassess whether it really needs that tweak.

You nailed it Gita... as I mentioned elsewhere, prior to quitting traditional art back in the eighties this and a pseudo impressionistic style were my main go-tos...you found me own!  :D

Very interesting style, you nailed it.   The painting sell a story.   I love the contrast between the cubism of the building and the softness of the live component (the tree and the cat).    :flowers:
Cheers, Annie
