Just wondering about brush marks on the background of Koe Fish. Large brush leaves fine directional marks. I tried to smooth them very lightly but they remain as "fine" and really show by window. I know it wouldn't in an evenly light room though.

The moment you find yourself mostly satisfied with a painting and think you'll "just quickly" do this or that, that's the moment to stop completely. Take the painting off your easel and put it aside for at least 24 hours, then reassess whether it really needs that tweak.

I wouldn't worry about it. That is part of oil painting and one of the things people like to see in an oil painting.
