How did I get here?
No, I mean my painting? I've been moved. Which is fine with me, of course. I didn't post it here, because I thought it was for the girrafe lesson and Dennis would want it for the lesson only.

Found the answer to my first question. Sorry, Dennis.
I'll try to do better next time!

C. Beautiful painting. I know your daughter will love it! My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I hope her situation improves.
I love the background colours. What colours did you use?
Keep all the paintings. Its great to back and look at them again. When I do it reminds me I have learned something! I also recently purchased a book called Master Disaster five ways to rescue desperate watercolours. I have many desperate watercolours to practice on
. It shows how you can really scrub off entire areas and start again or darken areas. There are really good descriptions of composition, colour, and unity. I figure with my stack of bad paintings how could I possibly make it worse. I may as well try some of these techniques maybe something will come of it. I have also soaked paper in the tub and reused it. It will leave a tone but it can be an nice undertone.
Stick with it I think your paintings are terrific!

Absolutely a nice pen and ink wash. Very nicely rendered. I'm glad you did not try and "paint" it. See how the thin washes applied very lightly gives the drawing a unique characteristic not attainable with ordinary painting. Well done
Just the back of the neck is in shade and needs darkening up a bit.

There are some lovely giraffes here. I've been away in Australia and really missing my computer though i've borrowed one from time to time. I couldn't print any templates but I had a pen and watercolour pencils with me so I did fantail birds instead. These are my first bird attempts. It was so hot in Brisbane my washes dried almost instantly - must be interesting painting in hot countries.
Here is Fantail 1
