This is a small 5x7” charcoal drawing on toned paper. Cami recently passed away and her owner sent me one of those “live” photos to work from. It wasn’t the best quality but I think it turned out well.
The tooth of the paper showing was driving me crazy at first, but now I think I really like the texture showing. Once you step back it looks more realistic. What do you think? Does the tooth of the paper take away from the artwork or add to it?
