Lady

I’m at a point where I could really use some fresh eyes on this one. I have nearly thrown it out of the window a few times.
I intentionally increased the contrast and saturation on the painting because I felt the photo felt a bit dull. I took this photo with the sunlight shining bright, the contrasts are not quite as strong in person.
It appears I have the fur texture wrong.
Any advice or comment would be appreciated.

Me, personally, I think you have nailed it. Before I read your comments I had already thought how wonderfully you captured the shiny fur, and great eyes.

I agree with Mary Lou, I think you have captured Lady perfectly. There is much more brilliance of her character shining through, that the photo doesn't quite have. Great eyes

The texture of the fur is spot on and it's an amazing portrait
What may be bothering you is that you have more contrast in the fur than in the photo making the fur look more shiny than the photo. Personally I like that as it adds more life

Thank you MaryLou, Tracy, Dennis and Nolan!
I’m so happy to read your comments. I was worried I had used my artist license a bit too much and lost the likeness along the way. I’ll send the photo to the client and see if she’s happy with it. Thank you again for the encouragement!
