I’m at a point where I could really use some fresh eyes on this one. I have nearly thrown it out of the window a few times.  :crazy2:
I intentionally increased the contrast and saturation on the painting because I felt the photo felt a bit dull. I took this photo with the sunlight shining bright, the contrasts are not quite as strong in person.
It appears I have the fur texture wrong.
Any advice or comment would be appreciated.

Me, personally, I think you have nailed it.  Before I read your comments I had already thought how wonderfully you captured the shiny fur, and great eyes.   :smitten:

I agree with Mary Lou, I think you have captured Lady perfectly. There is much more brilliance of her character shining through, that the photo doesn't quite have.  Great eyes   :smitten:

The texture of the fur is spot on and it's an amazing portrait :congrats:

What may be bothering you is that you have more contrast in the fur than in the photo making the fur look more shiny than the photo. Personally I like that as it adds more life O0

Thank you MaryLou, Tracy, Dennis and Nolan!  :)

I’m so happy to read your comments. I was worried I had used my artist license a bit too much and lost the likeness along the way. I’ll send the photo to the client and see if she’s happy with it. Thank you again for the encouragement!  :painting:
