How to Paint Crashing Waves

I think I have nearly captured the rolling wave & foam.. time to put this aside and start fresh in practising painting waves and water.

So what I learnt is how tortured I worked the crest of the wave & into the barrel. I'm sort of getting used to the acrylic drying quickly. Someone has suggested to add a drop of dishwashing liquid into the paint mix, helps to stop it drying out on the canvas too quickly. Has anyone any suggestions if this is a good idea please?

I wouldn't recommend that as it could affect the bond between the paint molecules.

I am happy for the paint to dry on the canvas. Acrylic likes to be layers so if one layer dries, I just add the next over it. You get used to painting like that after a while
