Nicely done Kathy!  personally... i loved painting the ears!!! They were great fun.  Hmmm, my computer keyboard seems to be acting up again. :(

It was a fun class. Now that I look at it again, I think the body could use more work.  The neck doesn't blend into the body well. Yes, Val, the ears were my favorite part to do too!  ;)

Nice job, Kathy. O0 I would try to add some more definition to the head/snout so it doesn't look so flat. Alternatively, you could redo it with a 3/4 profile so the boundary between the snout and main part of head is more prominent. :)

Great suggestions Steve.   :thankyou: Though I don't plan to redo the entire painting, I am going to go back and make some modifications. I agree about the snout looking flat.

:thankyou: Thank you Danielle! Yes, lots of fun. I am looking forward to doing more with the watercolor pencils. Still need to get the feel of them as a penciled paint but I think I have the general idea.  :1hug:

After being away from painting with watercolours too long, mostly because of being ill for the most part of this year due to two strokes in March and May, I finally started painting again. And because of the pencils I just had to start with this cute Kudu Doe. I had a great time, even I am not really happy with the final result, I know I can do better, but for today this is the best I can, and that is just ok.

Riya,

So happy to have you back.  Sorry to hear that you have been ill.

Your kudu is well done.  He is bright and lively looking.

I did this painting, also, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Stay healthy!

Mea, Val, Dennis and Fiona, thank you so much for your wonderful comments on my Kudu :flowers: .

Mea, I am so glad I am recovered enough to start painting again and enjoying daily life with all the tiny hickups I still have to face. But being creative makes the difference, and will surely keep me healthy.

Val, Thank you so much for the encouragement, we are our own most worsted? critiques and being a perfectionist, still, makes it sometimes difficult. I have to fight against my own high expectations. But you are so right, my kudu looks just great (but I am happy you can't see the part that isn't on the photo :2funny: )

Dennis thank you so much for your kindness. I do feel much better then a few months ago, without being able to use my hands, not understanding anything, and unable to make normal sentenses. Loosing my abillity to speak made me feel so lonely, but with a lot of help and my persistence to write and speak normal again, I recover faster then they expected. I still have problems, but I know I will overcome does too. I have faced more problems the last three-four years then all the 55 before, and how bad things looked every time, I still was able to come back, thanks to art and all the wonderful kind artsy friends I have here and in some other communities.
The only thing changes is I dont paint as much right now, but I do love journaling and mixed media, and abstrcts. But I wanted to paint something cute, and watercolour is something I just started to use again...for making my own hand designed papers. Never thought that would be so much fun and I enjoyed it a lot. Playing with watercolours is just so much fun...and I ended up with a bunch of happy, fibrant right into your face papers.
I will try to paint on weekly basis to get back into painting again, I still have some unfinished paintings and a few favourite classes to do, like the mixing greens, birds, and the pen and ink classes...have to give does a try too.

Fiona, thank you so much for your kind wors, I am happy to be back at painting again. And being back here again too. I did miss it a lot, and I only hope and pray that I will have a few months, or years, without to much problems that keep me away again from my friends, and from painting, drawing or what ever I love to dod, like making small quilts by hand.

Have a wonderful week, thanks for the happy boost you gave me  :smitten:
