Dennis wanted to say thanks for another great class. I have a suggestion. I thought of this when you were doing the class. You know when you begin the painting you trace out the subject. How about already have one completely {traced}. Then take another one and show a little bit how you trace for the newbies. It would save you a lot of time.
Just an idea. Or as we say here, Food for thought.  ;D Have a great day today.  :yippee:

I painted along.
Because I didn't get the outline before the class I wouldn't have been able to do this today if you hadn't traced the whole bird. I could get the tracing done in advance if I could work out how to get the template a bit sooner. As Nina and Gloria say it would give you more time if you need it Dennis.
I have fixed the back feathers which are a bit disconnected in this photo - my camera battery has died so will not post it
until i've had another look at the photo of the bird. I put too much masking fluid on the neck and had to fiddle with it.

Thanks for the lesson Dennis - It's an interesting challenge!

Very well done for a paint-along as I had to rush it a bit.    I am surprised that anyone kept up at all  O0

Just check the right hand wing at the top of the page - needs to be fixed up. Also the brown feathers must start higher up towards the neck. Excellent.

Karen, I was wondering if someone was painting along.  I thought it would be an unthinkable challenge.  Then, here, against the odds, you have done a fabulous paint along!   :congrats:

You are amazing!

Dennis, I really enjoyed the class.  Thanks so much.  I learned a lot even about the tui bird.   :)

I was halfway through painting the man in the boat and the water reflections, finished it after the class.

It's been a great day for  :painting:

Glad you enjoyed the class. When I started to paint I thought I would never be able to finish in time. ::)

I'm looking forward to reading this thread as it progresses. I'm liking these Water Colour studies and productions.
Dennis is amazing at teaching and painting these.  :painting:

:thankyou: Thanks everyone for your comments and Dennis for your advice. I'm constantly surprised by the amount of encouragement you guys give. I looked at some Tui pics and have fixed the bird a bit but it's too late to get thin feather curls from the white of the paper.
