Another nice painting Mary Lou    I also didn't stretch my paper although glad I got the info. I wanted to take advantage of the  :painting: lesson.
Check out my houses.....they should make you feel better about yours. I've decided mine are large orange mushrooms dropped by your UFO ;D  Or, maybe Rita's mushrooms have migrated ??? ...
Also, I usually like my colors strong, but I may have gone a little too far on this one :P
Anyway, as usual all comments on how to improve this are welcomed. Thanks all :)

Thank you Denise.  I really like your sky, water and trees.  I like them alot. I really like the whole painting!       The area with the houses, well, seems we both have our struggle there.  Dennis makes it look so easy.  A dot of red and white here and there and in his painting it looks like a little neighborhood.  So overall I say very well done and as I far as the red roofs.....I will leave that to Dennis...b-t-w. the bold colors are great!

This is the first WC I have done in over a month. It is surprising how much one can forget in just a little time. :-\

I am still have trouble with skies - I overwork them. This piece is my third attempt and I use a technique other than the one Dennis showed. I plan to spend some time learning that technique, but don't hold out much hope. May have to stick with what works.

Dennis are the houses to bright at the waters edge or should they be more muted?

O0 O0 Peggy there is nothing wrong with your sky. it looks fine. I think you did a very nice job on your painting. And yes I agree, when you don't paint for awhile, you do tend to forget. Or it could be a senior moment.  :2funny: :2funny:

This is a very nice confident-looking painting    There is nothing wrong with the sky. Those bright houses are in full sunshine and draw the eye right into the focal area O0

Thanks, Maria.

I took the picture to my oil painting teacher today and she said I need to work more on my clouds!
