In this lesson we will be painting bricks, stonework, masonry and roof tiles.

I found it easier to keep up this time Dennis. Your describing  a bit of detail of your finished painting before you started really helped get a good idea of where you were going. I'm still scrambling with colour mixes. Is there any chance you can tell us the paint colours you will use before you start! Thanks for the lesson - i like your bulding sketch better than the other buildings you showed us.

I can see great improvement in your paintings already. Well done  Very well painted 
Can you see that you don't have to paint every detail, and also that accurately, to make a very good presentable painting.

I have 2 problems with the boundary walls:
1. The "boulder" walls don't line up with the result the left one is skewing towards the house instead of lining up with the one on the right. The bottom of the walls should follow the same line.
2. The joints of the layers on top of the walls must be very much flatter. At the moment they give the impression that they slope down towards the pavement instead of having a flat top.

It is not always possible to tell which of the colours I will be using. It all depends on how the painting is progressing at that moment. Unless I mention it I won't be using colours other than the ones mentioned in the first free introductory lesson.

Like today I only used burnt sienna, touch of cad Yellow, yellow ochre, aliz crimson and Ultramarine, and a touch of orange. These are the ones I use the most.

I find it quite easy to miss stuff that needs fixing and I don't notice until a few weeks later - if ever. It's great having a professional pair of eyes looking too.
