  • "If I was any fitter, I'd be dangerous!"

Let me introduce myself: I am a 71  retired male who started painting with acrylics in Feb 2009.

All of my adult life, I have indulged my creative aspirations in Photography but always with the intention of one day painting the subjects of the photos. Currently, I have estimated that I will have to live to 237yrs to fulfill this goal or, alternatively, do some serious culling of my photos.  :2funny:

I have just started the "Perfect Painting Course" and I will upload my efforts in the near future, in the meantime, I would like to express my thanks  for the generosity of Dennis and Nolan in providing this course freely, it gladens an old bloke's heart. ;)
If I was any fitter, I'd be dangerous!

Welcome Lyndonaus,
I too, have done photography all of my life. And, like you, wanted to paint most of my life. I only started about 6 months ago. Let us all know how you're doing. Every little bit helps. Walk before running.
The moment you find yourself mostly satisfied with a painting and think you'll "just quickly" do this or that, that's the moment to stop completely. Take the painting off your easel and put it aside for at least 24 hours, then reassess whether it really needs that tweak.

Lyndon,  :welcome: to our forum and hope you will have many enjoyable hours  :painting: with us.
Likewise, I have indulged in serious photography for many years semi-professionally. I must admit I have  never calculated just how many years I will have to live to be able to paint them all :heeha:
