I painted along. Thanks for the nice clear lesson, Nolan. I do like the knife but i don't have a lot of control over it yet!  I can see now that my flowers should have been much bigger - there's always a next time.

Karen...this is a paint-along? It is beautiful.        Love the colours, and they always give us such wonderful vistas to paint. I'm certain Nolan will be pleased when he sers this. Banner!  O0

Thank you for your nice comments, Bhavna, Polliwag, and Val, I have added some foreground grass - got carried away with scratching with my palette knife but maybe i should have used something that makes a point instead.

OMW, Karen!  Your painting is awesome!!!

The sky with the birds, the mountains, the foothills with the mist,  the trees, the colorful meadows, the grass and those flowers  that lead the eye back through all of it, all so well done!

You never cease to amaze me!   :flowers:

Thank you Anita, Gail, Nina, C.Bodine,  Lillian, Maryna, and Rita. I'm always amazed at how helpful and positive you all are. I have brightened the mid distance flowers a bit and no doubt I'll mess with it a bit more before I'm finished but I liked this one - i think the flowers will get better with knife practice. I'm not completely sure about the composition? I'm looking forward to seeing some more from those of you who are good with flowers!

I agree with the comments karen. You've created a beautiful painting and, I can feel the light breeze drifting over those hills with the sound of overhead birds tweeting away. It takes me back to our trips to the Lake District!
Well done

Thanks Tony, It reminds me a bit of Central Otago in NZ but the flowers should be blue and purple there - and sorry Nina, I missed your question. I used acrylics and I threw in some thickening stuff so I could butter the paint on with the knife. It made the mix a bit stiff but I'll try it again and get it a better consistency.
