Hiya Pam... not bad at all   O0   The main thing to remember with watercolours is to paint from light to dark... opposite to what you are used to doing in your oils...and this takes time to get used to.

How I went about painting my watercolours... I will press play on the video... as it starts, I press pause... let it then load...it takes about 15-30 minutes.  When you then press play, you don't get any buffering... then as Dennis painted, I followed...but when I find he moves too fast for me, I just pause the video to catch up... works like a dream.  It also helps me to make sure I start with the lightest colours first...then progress to the darker ones... it also helps to make sure you don't miss out on certain areas ... where shadows are falling etc...

I also find as I am progressing with the watercolour course... it takes lots of practice...  Also when my painting is finished...then I will compare section by section with what Dennis has done... that way I also pick up where I have maybe missed something, or could have done it differently...then making a mental note for the next painting.

Remember, don't be too hard on yourself... this is a new medium to you and it takes time to get used to...  :1hug:

The tonal painting is well done.   The only comment from me is that you must not make the foreground grasses too prominent. The focal point is the house, and the darks around it show it up to its best. The background and the foreground must not compete with the house.

Soften the grasses down and then see the difference.  O0

Sincerely hope this is the right place to post this.  I'm going forward with the water color painting lessons.  I really learned a lot from this lesson, even if it does not show in the results.
