Your painting is beautiful C.

Not only that, it looks pretty familiar.   :2funny:

I had to laugh when you said you weren't listening to Dennis and painted the background grasses right across the paper.  I did the very same thing!   See where I lifted out on the bottom corners?   :2funny:

Good thing there's a forward and stop button on the video.  I use it frequently and when I have it stalled, sometimes my hubby hears me say, "Dennis, Dennis, Dennis!"

How you do the class in 2 hrs, Dennis and how those folks do paint alongs and have them coming out so nice is really beyond me.   :envy:

Thank you, Natalie. I'm   to even receive compliments on this one!

Lillian, I just can't imagine being able to paint along!!! It takes me half a day to get one of these finished.  I am pushing stop, rewind, play... repeat the last three steps! ;D  Of course, it doesn't help I can't practice very often.  I have painted 2 paintings in the last 4 months! (Both of those in the last 2 days!)

Oh c. ... c.c. Bodine ...  Oh C. what you have done!  Sounds better if you sing the tune.   ;D
You have painted...hmmm, how to say it...must be tactful... a bloody marvelous painting   :heeha:  the lilies are lovely, yes the grass may be in need of a trim...and the background looks fine. In fact on the right hand side by the top of the flower I can see an outline that looks like a butterfly behind the flower.
Now, what more could one ask for? 'nuff said.   :knuppel2:

:2funny: Butterfly,? Get out of the cabin, Val!!!  I think you are sniffing to much fuel!   :2funny:
I guess if I stretch my imagination to it's limits, I may be able to see a butterfly in that accidental water droplet!!! ;D

Oh well then... perhaps it's a moth.   ;)   Fuel fumes? Nah, most likely the varnish from the table!   :D

Hopefully Dennis will see this question.  I REALLY dislike the grassy stuff I put into this painting.  Everytime I look at it, I dislike it even more! Is there anything I can do since it is sooo dark or is it just a going to be a lost cause?

The lesson was not about the "grass" but about the lilies themselves. If you do the lilies well, which you have done, then the rest does not matter to me at all. It is easy to change the background if you really want to.

Just retape the edges with masking tape and then scrub them out by lightening them and softening all the edges.

I finally finished my Arums painting.  I think it turned out pretty good, considering I'm new at this!  Again, I want to paint another one, but I might tackle the Hibiscus first.  And of course, the Daffodils class is coming up!  I really like these flowers classes.

Super job here Pat.     The lilies look fabulous. I think if you wanted to change anything, would be to darken the background a bit to really make your flowers pop off the page. Very well done.   O0

C. - I don't think you have to say a word...I will!  It is BEAUTIFUL!!!  I don't know how you got the flowers so crisp looking and I think your background is just wonderful!  The only reason I'd be painting this one over would be if you just simply enjoyed it because I think it's a painting to be proud of...just lovely!
