Hi everyone,

In order to help me with my colour mixing I finally started on some colour charts.

I made a template in Word that allows me to mix a base colour with 10 other colours to form a sheet of swatches. This was printed on a thicker paper thank just your regular copy paper, but not watercolours paper.

The left column is the base colour used. The top row is the colour mixed with the base for each colour. Going down each column gradually more and more of the mixer colour was added.

The first uses the base of Viridian. The paints used are Dowler Rowney - Aquafine (tube) paints.

I will use this thread over time to add more, as I change my base colour and do a sheet per base colour.

You can use these as a reference, inspiration for your own charts, or simply an amusement to waste a little bit of Internet bandwidth. I'm hoping they will help me improve my mixing.

I will have the chance to achieve perfection, when and only when I can remember the future.

Hi Batman, I like your colourchart. :smitten:
I love making them and have already made a few in acrylics, oils, watercolours and colourpencil. But making charts starting with one basecolour is new for me,...and a great idea to keep in mind. I stil have to do the colourwheels from Dennis' lesson, and maybe after that I follow your idea.
