Since I’m leaving for PV in 2 weeks, I thought I’d paint this for our condo down there! It’s only 8x10 since that’s easy to travel with. If it we’re larger I could have done those bubbles inside of the shell. Just couldn’t control my brush enough for that tiny space. Anyway, hopefully it will be dry by the time I leave!! Any changes suggested???
Cheers,
Sharon

Sharon,

I always make a practice when I start to go back and view what everyone else has done - and, most importantly, the suggestions made.

Here's one from Nolan: Next time though leave yourself a bit more room between the foam and its shadow. That will show more height in the water.  What you can do now is to extend the existing shadows by fading them out slower. That will have the same effect

And, he made a suggestion to show more shadow for the bigger shell on the far right, to give it more height above the sand.

Hope those help.  Although with a small painting, it is more difficult.

You did a good job.  Sea foam is not easy.

Thanks Mea. I think when I do this again I’ll use a larger canvas to allow me to do the things with the shadows like you wrote and to create those bubbles too
Cheers,
Sharon

It looks good Sharon. I always find small paintings harder to do than large.

Thanks Zilpa. And since these are practice pieces I figure it’s better to use small canvas which are easier to store or give away. But I will try a larger canvas soon!!
Cheers,
Sharon
