Painting Rain

Thank you, Val.  Maybe I shouldn't be wearing sunglasses when I'm painting rain?  Yikes...maybe that was the problem!     I laugh every time I look at it which I'm trying not to do!

Mary, I like your painting, it is very sunny, even the raindrops shine    
I love the light and bright colours you've used and as Val said, it was a great idea to personalize the grafitti . I really like the reflections on the wet street, and the nice rings of the droplets .
Your lady does only have that much weight, because she is dressed on a winterstorm with very low temperatures, and heavy snowfall . She just wants to stay warm, once at home she can put of her thick coat, all her sweaters, her Long Johns and what else she had put on. Then you'll see the nice, very slim lady she really is

Mary, I love your sence of humor, it brightens up the day, when it's not all happy and sunny. I do feel the same as you, and so many others here I believe: The best part the last 2 months since I've joined PB, is having you and this little loving family in my life.

Oh dear Mary, you shouldn't go out such a rainy stormy day!!        But what a beautiful painting. One can put oneselves in the place of that poor girl trying to walk forwards dispite the weather. 
Actually I did not take that class, because I dislike bad weather, but seeing all your interesting paintings a changed my mind!

Rita!  Thank you!  I think what my not so little lady needs to do after getting home and taking off all those layers of clothing is to get into a warm bed and pull the covers up over her head and be thankful she got out of that storm with only TWO lightning bolts hitting her!  Unfortunately, those bright colors were not intentions but necessity (unless I wanted to start a 3RD version in the last inning...lol) because in the midst of all of whatever else was going on, I didn't have "bright green" so I ran out and grabbed a tube of the only brand that the store had...I won't be getting that brand again!  It game out of the tube as if it already WERE a glaze and even if I had made it as transparent as Nolan suggested,  the cadmium yellow was covering the apparently indelible watercolor pencil I'd used to draw the umbrella which was totally off in the first place because of the transparency substitution I never should have done.  If I'd not darkened them, then the umbrella was going to have both internal AND external metal ribbing SO at least she won't get lost in a crowd for sure!  Somehow, I think the painting screams that the artist missed the whole point of the lesson BUT she certainly had a great deal of fun doing it.  Thanks so much, Rita...you made ME laugh!

I have to cover EVERYTHING around me and put on really old clothes when I paint with oils! I usually look like an indian warrior or something with all the paint I wear!    I just can't figure out how those  Clark boys stay so clean!!!

It really is mystifying, isn't it, C.?  No matter how hard I try, I end up looking like an advertisement for a stain remover commercial.  And now, in addition to paint EVERYWHERE in my studio, including the carpet, it's ALL over my house...I even have titanium white paw prints on my bedroom carpet from the day I put my pallet down on the floor.  And worse, I KEPT them there...gave me license to not even care anymore.  I've gotten paint in my frig, ON the screen of my porch door (try cleaning THAT off), my front door and my pug is glowing in cadmium yellow today!  But that way, I won't lose him at the picnic my family rudely planned for today making me have to miss Dennis' live class today!

Girls we  are  real artists! It's a question of sharing?? I recognice the situation. My kitchenroll full of paint flew on to the wall on a hot day when the fan was on behind me....... .Can you imagine the result. My husband suggested that I did the rest of the walll!!
