Hadn't thought of that, who knew there'd be so many options? :)

Love that style Val. You have alot of courage by not going by a photo or something and instead doing it YOUR way.
The moment you find yourself mostly satisfied with a painting and think you'll "just quickly" do this or that, that's the moment to stop completely. Take the painting off your easel and put it aside for at least 24 hours, then reassess whether it really needs that tweak.

 Thanks Pat. I've never forgotten what my dad told me many years ago...'you'll never get anywhere if you don't step outside the front door.' Sometimes its difficult to take that step outside the comfort zone, but to learn and grow, you just have to take that step.  :eyesclosed:

As a case in point...when I decided to try this 'island style', at first I was a bit hesitant to post them thinking they seemed rather childish. On the contrary, it was not as simple as I thought. Their colours are absolutely even and smooth...I definately have work to do to nail down the technique. Also the use of acrylics has proved to be a bit more of a challenge than I'd anticipated. After the comments and hints I've picked up here I am definately going to keep on until I become competent at this style. Needless to say I was definately squirming a bit when I posted them. Thanks to all for your encouragement....thats another step taken!
