I am not entirely satisfied with this one so any tips appreciated. It was a great class though and, as usual, I learned a lot. I like the light on the trunk - I think this is the best bit of my painting but I struggled to get the same misty mood that Dennis achieved. The bark on the base of the tree has more varied colour than this photo shows.

The moment you find yourself mostly satisfied with a painting and think you'll "just quickly" do this or that, that's the moment to stop completely. Take the painting off your easel and put it aside for at least 24 hours, then reassess whether it really needs that tweak.
