I gave the Sand Dunes class a try but the brush I bought was wrong for this technique. It's a glazing brush, way too soft. I really had a struggle with that brush. :fight: It was a fun class even though I'm going to throw the brush out into the alley so the cats can groom themselves with it! Don't see any other use. Oh yeah I can glaze with it. :2funny:

   Whoa, whoa, whoa! Don't toss that brush just yet! I really like the effect of this painting. It may not be what you set out to achieve but it is very pleasing. I think this calls for a wee bit o' experimentation there!  ^-^

Sometimes the things that work for us and set us apart are discovered purely by accident. This could be a good thing.

Yes, the wrong brush can make for a bad experience.

I do like the ocean on this.

Maybe try with a bristle brush flicking a lighter grass stroke over what you already have. It is good enough to tweak a bit

Thanks Val and Mea. I'm gonna head over to Wally World to see if they still have this  utility brush set that's real cheap and good for this type of work. They wear out fast. Then I'll tweak.. :painting:

yeah, that soft brush isn't going to do it here. Your painting looks good, you just need a cheaper brush.  ;)

Yeah  I know EmmaLee. Had the Bob Ross 1 inch in my cart at Jerry's online but found the one I bought cheaper. Didn't read it was a glazing brush and soft. That's what I get for going cheap instead of what I really needed. ahduh! LOL  Now I have to wait till there is  money again for supplies..It's weird how Jerry's was out of most everything Bob Ross. Walmart does have a nice set of utility brushes for like $5.00. They do wear out fast though

Beautiful painting Robynann even if you didn't like your brush.

I like the effect you have created with this brush. This has given it a sort of dreamy effect and a movement you might not have had with another brush. The colours are great. Well done.

Well done Neil.

I must admit, I agree with you. I started mine a long time ago and had some struggles and left it. I guess maybe time I give it another go.
