Hi Helena, we all work from the same reference photo. We'll wait and see how long it takes to get the galleries functional again. Not to worry,
I'm sure things will be back to normal soon.  O0

Hi Val,

I can now see all the pictures.  :yippee:

So do old painting count or do you want new ones?

Well--Since I couldn't obsessively read posts over the past few days, I actually painted the November challenge.  However, when I tried to upload it into my gallery it won't let me--Saying Can't find the proper destination.....".  Also Nolan, all my drawings and oil paintings (each in different folders) were gone.  That's no biggie as I can upload again if I want but would like the gallery to work.  I know you are working on this, so I'll just wait this out but wanted you to know FYI.   :) :)

Well Nolan--When I tried to upload in a different folder, it permitted it.  Here is my November Challenge.  I know I might get  :fight: for the degree of artistic license I took--too much blue for me.  So I tried a sunset time of day, which of course made everything so much more difficult.  Wish I had taken all of Dennis's reflection and water lessons. I was half way into this and realized I didn't know how to alter the colors.  Anyway, it was fun (or yes, it seemed too barren so I added a secondary point of interest--the rocks

.

:heeha: Nicely done Lynn
You are allowed to use artistic license and make the picture your own. Personally I like this version.
The photo was taken while we were waiting for a storm to pass and hence all the dull bluey/gray colours. Well done.

:flowers:Thanks Rita, Natalie, Christina and Val.  Yes, it is in oils.  Pretty far from the reference photo but I enjoyed trying to do sky and water.  A landscape painter, I AM NOT! but that is the fun of the challenge as you don't get to paint what you would normally do.

Lyn, your painting is just amazing. I love it....       Well Done...

Fishing boats are not my favourite subject but as you said, it's a great opportunity for us to paint something we would not normally attempt.

I have butterflies in anticipation and I haven't even started yet.   :-\

Well, I missed the Oct Challenge, and will sit this one out also.  I dislocated a rib, and THEN I fell down my stairs, so am barely moving right now. Hopefully, I'll get back to painting soon.  For now, I'm able to follow the forum, and watch the class replays.  The last few days have been agony because I couldn't even do that with the website down!  Talk about withdrawals!!  I'm glad things are getting back to normal finally!  This fishing boat should be an interesting challenge.
Lynn, you've set a pretty high bar!  Your panting is beautiful.  I like the artist license you took with the colors and addition of the rocks.   :congrats:
