I have a couple of general website questions, and I hope this is the place to ask them!

1)  What do pencil, easle, etc labels mean under a member's avatar in the forum?

2)  I see mention of someone being the Featured Artist.  Where do I go to see these artists and their work.

I'm enjoying this website, and have taken several of the free classes.  When Fall comes and things slow down (hopefully!) I want to take some of the courses, especially the drawing one.  For now, I'm enjoying the "Perfect Painting" class, and also the watercolor tutorials.  Thanks so much for making all this information available to us!

Hi,

1) You can read the forum post Nolan made about that here http://www.paintbasket.com/members/index.php/topic,500.0.html.

2) The featured artist is someones artwork that they did during the week and are featured in the Newsletter. In the newsletter there is a link where you can link back to see their work.

If you have not subscribed to the newsletter I suggest you do so  ;)

Maryna - Thanks for the quick reply.  I just got my first newsletter, and it answered that question for me!  I guess I signed up just in time to recieve this one!  And, thanks for the link to find the answer to the other question.  I searched the New Member, Read this First forum, but didn't think to look in Tech Stuff!  I see I have more to read, now!!

Hello.  I'm new to the site.  I hope this is where I post a question.

I saw that there is a free beginner oil/acrylics course.  When I look under replays the classes are supposed to be there ready to unlock but I don't see them.  Under "My Unlocked Classes" I have the Welcome video and the "How to Mix Color"  Replay but I can't find the next one.  At the bottom of the Replays page where they are supposed to be I have "Seascapes" and "Cityscapes".  Can anyone help?  I'd like to continue with the course.  The color mixing part was great!!!!

Thanks.
Carol

Hi Carol!  :welcome:

I "think" they unlock one per week-not sure, but someone will be along to answer.  ;)

VIEW PREVIOUS CLASS LIST - click on OIL & ACRYLICS - the free course is at the bottom. It won't be in My Unlocked Classes - you haven't "bought" it.

Thanks for the quick replys  :).

musika... I've tried viewing "Previous Class List" but I don't get the Beginner section.  The last section I get is "Cityscapes".  I must be missing something.

OK, sorry Carol.

If it doesn't appear in "Previous Class List", it suggests that you have already "bought" it. In which case it should appear in
My Unlocked Classes. In mine, it is actually the one ABOVE Seascapes and Cityscapes.

The free course unlocks one class per week. You are looking in the correct place (green My Classes button)
You will receive an email when the next class unlocks O0

Hi - another newbie here! I was wondering if it is okay to just jump in with the live classes or if you recommend starting somewhere else? I am on holiday right now and don't feel able to jump into a full course yet but am itching to get started with something! Any thoughts? I have some experience with drawing, painting with oils as well as a bare minimum of watercolour experience.  :)

Tania you are welcome to jump into the live classes O0
We do however recommend that you at least complete the free course first to get the basics sorted
