OK.... now I'm having second thoughts, I was going to post mine.

Val!  I think you're off to a wonderful start!  And Dennis made a point to say today to make it your own but additionally, I really LIKE the purple sky...I wouldn't change a thing!  Just finish!

:thankyou: Pat, I decided I'd better stand back and take a look at this one. I think it's redeemable, so I'll keep at it. One thing's for certain...it CAN'T be as bad as last week's!  ;D
Cheers, Val

I seem to have missed the bit about making it your own...I guess you could say I took it literally anyway!  ;D

Mary, you really know how to pick me up, give me a boot, and make me smile at the same time.  How do you do it?  :1hug:

ladies.. as always AWSOME!!!

Val: your waves look almost "photo realistic"

here is my Paint along

here is my 1st revision

Did not like the wave top on the left.  looked to "solders in a row" as Dennis would say.

Posted the second one and  saw the "opps" to the left of the swimmers

Will think about that one for a day or two, and OR somebody comes up with a suggestion? ??? ??
Please

Super job , ladies
Brian.

P.S.  this "resource limit reached" is for the BIRDS

    Fantastic work to all who submitted their paintings.  Crumbs, I feel like I should hide mine but hey, I am still learning.  My colours are all wrong, my splashing waves didn't come out for my sky was too light but I will do better with practice.  Patricia

Wow....they are all wonderful!!
You all did such a great job and really made the water come to life. Val, your waves are awesome....look forward to the finished product.
I'm sooooo proud to be in your class each week you guys!!
I have to finish my other lesson before tackling this one. I'd feel too guilty not doing them in the right order as I'm sure Dennis is trying to teach us techniques in a certain way, but I really look forward to today's lesson.

Jennylynn, Mary, Natalie, Val and Brian--These are really great.  Sorry I missed this class.  When you are not in class you realize how much was learned.  All of you have convincing waves--some look like the carribean and some like the California coast--all super inviting.  Excellent :yippee: :yippee:

Thank you kind sir! I don't think I've ever had anything I've done (other than with a camera) called photo realistic before.  Now I'm getting nervous about finishing it!  :eyesclosed:

Brian, I don't think the first one was that bad, I can see what you were on about and the revised painting looks great as well. Not sure what you are looking at re: the "opps" by the swimmers.  ???
Cheers, Val

Hi Patricia, good on you for having a go at this one...and you finished it!   I think you have done exceptionally well. Could probably use a few darks to make the wave highlights pop out. Great job!  O0

Bella, I can't help myself. I just can't stay in order...I'm still working on the sailboat!  AND we know all about the wood...  :2funny:
But I see Dennis swishing his brushes about..and I just have to play!  :yippee: I can't stop myself..it's an affliction.

Thanks for your encouragement and the gentle nudge. Here we go....  :painting:

Oh, that's easy, Val - I just follow your example!   :1hug:

I've been very aware of purple skies here lately...not sure why that is...and mostly around sunset and I love it!  And I don't know if you were able to see the end of the class but Dennis did add purple at the bottom of the painting so I think you nailed it!  :flowers:

All of you have done a splendid job with this.   :yippee:    :congrats:

Val, you definitely can keep going on yours.  I know what you mean about the Chinese White.  I have use it straight from the tube and still had it do the disappearing act.       I think it's better to have to go over it than for the added white to become too garish looking.
