Great job Njnjgirl. I love the pier it really stands out. I don't have a problem with your sky at all. I do not know if you do what I do and that is to look at my paintings too closely. I have not liked any of my skies where others have liked them so I put it down to me looking too closely.

jm, your walk on the beach looks so pretty and soft, just like the sunsets here.  I like your colors!

njnj, I like that you have done your own interpretation of colors.  I was just watching Dennis'  lesson on dramatic clouds, and your clouds seem to follow his lesson which is a good thing, right?  I'm still contemplating where to start!  You know my story... I want so badly to paint this, and to paint it well too;  since this is sentimental scene for me,  I want to be able to frame it and hang it on MY wall.  :help:

Sorry Dianne--I really tried to do a bright, realistic version of your beautiful pic but it looked like a bad 1960s poster for a black light room.  I thought, what the heck, I'll just try something sorta impressionistic but I admit it is blustery and wintery.  It just bubbled up for me.  I love the beach in stormy weather.  Hope you will forgive me :)  It is in oil

It's going to be a tough job to decide a winner in this challenge!

   njnjgirl and lynnp for lovely paintings.  Each is different which I really like.  Looks are deceiving for this is not an easy assignment and you have all done so well.  I am on my third try, talk about waste of paper!!! Oh! Well, mess or not, I will post it when I am done.  Patricia

Lynn, I love it!   :smitten:

I love it too, Lynn. For someone who is trying to paint 'looser,' you really nailed it. Impressionistic suits the subject very well. I kept thinking that the sky in the photo looked a lot like your sky in the November challenge, so why not change things up again? Beautifully done. :urwelcome:

Lynn, Being the   that I am, I'll forgive you this time!  :2funny:   For what, I don't know.. Looks like you created a wonderful painting...and yes, when the Lady gets a little riled up, she shows these "true colors".  I love to go to the beach when She is a little sassy!
