Thanks Sarah and Tousabella on confirming the time for class. I hoped it hadn't changed to another time slot. It seems my time adjustment "thing" isn't working properly. It shows me the proper time on the clock, just not in the class schedule. I'll be in next week's class, God willing. This week I had a Church meeting I needed to be at, so had to miss the class. And, it looks like I missed a fun one! I can hardly wait for the replay!

Red1, your rooster is real perdy!
Here comes Pandora. I don't know why that name popped in my head.
She was supposed to be beautiful.
Maybe I was thinking there might be 'HOPE' for me doing abstracts.
Painting Pandora the Peacock was so much fun!

Wonderful paintings you guys. They are awesome. Did you notice, even with Dennis', that you can have the chicken coming toward you, or going away? It's just the way you look at it.
I was just watching the replay and Val had said something about 'closing her eyes'. Well, lo and behold, on the noon news today was a very inspiring and out of this world showing at the Vancouver Art Gallery of blind artists! Holy WOW....they paint what they 'feel'....landscapes, portraits, and what they 'hear'. Awesome portraits. If only I could paint that well. All mediums...oils, acrylics and watercolors. Sensational.

You never know what will happen when she opens her tail.
Pandora is a nice example of what we were doing her tail is kind of surreal. Mostly what we were doing is having fun, loosening up, not taking ourselves so seriously, getting over white paper panic. Pandora is a joyful expression of all those things.

Had to give it another go. Used a 1 1/2" brush except for beak and eye, and three paint colors. His tail got a little messy, and it lost a little of the freshness of original wash, but was fun. I may have a flock of these guys before all is said and done.

Okay guys, what would you call this? Would it be semi-abstract, impressionistic, a mess? I played around in FotoSketcher with a pic of a dead tree and this is what I came up with. Then I tried to paint it. Please give me some feedback.

Oh, I forgot about Fotosketcher. Guess I should watch the replay even though I did the Live Class. Nice job! I like your painting. I think it might be a lot of fun to do in acrylic or oil too.

Hi Lillian--I just LOVE peacocks. I've made friends with several over the years. So fun to see them hop high into trees for sleeping at night. Love your loose tailfeathers. I guess you know they have special spiritual significance. You often find them in ancient paintings in monasteries. It is because they shed their feathers each and year and grow new ones, representing Resurrection
Sarah--Love this Rooster and your background. What about a whole stack of watercolor cards of different roosters. They would be fun to send as a "Cheer Up" message.
Red--Good for you for going onto Fotosketcher. Love that you showed us what it does and your painting is very creative. See what Dennis has unleased. I suspect he can't put it back in the box either
