That's beautiful Danielle,
So much warmth and depth to it, it feels like you could see him blink if you watched long enough.

I know, I rushed, there are  lessons about hair, lips, eyes, teeth, shadows, lights but i must know if I can catch his character.
What do you say? :-\
The next version will be more elaborated.

The first lesson of painting in my life was in July this year and I feel like a chicken in the pile with a grain

Hi Ilinca, yes you got his character and expression very well  Now get out of the grain pile and go to basic ;) Do the lessons coming up to the portrait. Why? Your man skin is to pale, the shading under the chin (marul lui Adam) are to strong. The lower face shades are bit to strong compared with the rest. Don't get me wrong, your effort is exceptional! Just take your time and learn each step to do a perfect job. You are very talented.  :gl2:

Ilinca,     very nice, yes you will do fine in the next project.  What you have to do is give shadding on the left side of the face (Left side of paper).  The other thing is under the neck the marks ar too prodominent you need to fade it.  Hope this helps.

I can't say it any better than Doina; totally agree with her; do follow the lessons and your portraits will be masterpieces in stead of 'just' getting his character and expression... (that's not just, that's a lot, but after you've done those classes...  :D
can't wait to see your talent developing!)
