Very nice portrait, Brian    Just be careful with the eyes - the left eye in the painting is a bit too large on the left side - it points out too far.

Thank you all for the comments

Dennis, all I could think of when I stood back and looked at it on the wall is the old folk song line about "one eye on the pot and the tuther up the chimley" and the lesson learned is  I need pay more attention to the pencil sketch...make sure I have it right!!!  I was in a hurry and and did not take the time to see if I had followed the templet correctly

You have been busy! Overall colouring looks good to me. How did you find the blending of the colours? My people all seem to look like they're melting     ;D

Pamela--There is something very artistic looking about your portraits.  They are loose, fresh and not overworked.  I really like them.

Very good for a first attempt at portraits    Many find it a very difficult subject and don't even try to attempt one. Good for you O0

Study the original photograph carefully and compare the chin area again. The left side of the face (chin area) is much too fattened out. See if you can lift out the dark shadows and rework that side. Repost for me to look at it again. :)
