We are on vacation at the Outer Banks on NC!  I brought alone some acrylics to try them out.

Enjoy your vacation  8)

If you have been painting with oils for quite some time the acrylics will take some getting used to as they dry out much quicker - often too quick in hot dry conditions. You can purchase an extender gel or liquid that will cause the acrylics to stay wet for a bit longer. This enables easier blending to take place. I often use a squeeze bottle with a very fine mist to spray the painting in the areas where I am working in - be careful not to spray on too much.

I painted for years with acrylics before I started with oils - the reason why I can now paint so fast in oils  ;)

Acrylics are great on vacation as one does not have to contend with oil paint that take so long to dry.

A Tip:  Be careful not to let your brushes get dry - keep them always moist and clean them often - once the paint hardens on the bristles you have a major problem. Acrylics are also a bit hard on the brushes.
