Wow Red, love the multicolored background.  It really stands out.  Val, your carribean colors are so perfect.  Very happy and vibrant!!!

Well you three--Red, Val, and Aristocat--your butterflies are a breath of spring air. Thank goodness! Are you sure you are going to be able to go back to painting without your assistant, Val? Very cute. He seems to be enjoying this new activity. Red it is interesting how you managed to bring out the colors used in several different areas. It looks like a soft focus garden. Nice interpretation.

Definately going to lock him out when I do the turtle. He can rattle the door all he likes...I have earplugs I bought when my sister bought tickets for a country music concert. Just not a big fan....   ;D

Red, did you put salt on the flower to make it texturized? Whatever you did, I like it!

Val, love your butterflies.  The colors really pop.  Love your cat also.  Cats are so inquisitive.  Bryce, on the flower, I did not use salt.  I did it in layers.  I laid down a light blue (Cerulean), and while just damp, I dabbed on some ultramarine.  I let it dry a little more, then I dabbed on some darker blue mix and some purple.

Thanks to all for the comments.  I hope to get some more painted before my springbreak ends.

Brian...  :2funny: :2funny: So sorry...looks like you may be in for a rough go! Actually when I leave here, I'm really going to miss him.  :'(

Trust me guys...there were a pile of quite spectacular cauliflowers! Not to mention the paw prints  :heeha: That's why the center butterfly's body looks like an upside down dragonfly!  :D   He has serious takeoff problems!  :flight: :2funny:

Thanks for your kindly restrained comments.  ;D
Cheers, Val

I have new paints....(good ones) and I know what Dennis means when he says "Just a touch" of color!!  I'm learning!  My pic has much more color than the painting, and I have lightened the leaves and flower.
