Your flower is beautiful.
Sometimes I do a glaze of clean water to help "settle" things in.
You can also keep glazing (lightly) your background to settle things in.

Well that should give it an interesting patina!
Sorry to hear that, was it salvageable? You did a great job on the flower, the background could be glazed a bit darker to help smooth it out a bit, and to make the flower stand out more. Nicely done.

Thanks Val, it was all my fault, I made her coffee and asked her to come sit with me. I will try and salvage the background and maybe my flower will look much nicer.

Your flower must have a nice coffee aroma. Some people paint with coffee. Good salvage.
