Mea, if this is the very first watercolour painting then
you have done a banner job.
I want you (and the others as well) to remember one very important fact about any of the lessons provided here in the Paint Basket - and it is this: You are in a classroom. What is a classroom? but a place of learning! You are not in a job situation where a boss is watching over your shoulder watching to see that the work you produce is master quality.
Every expert was once a beginner, and every master is an expert in training.
The whole idea here is NOT to try and cover up your mistakes, but to LEARN by your mistakes. Failure is only when you give up.
What does practice really mean? It means doing the SAME thing over and over again until it it mastered.
Don't look at something and tell yourself it is too hard. I'll leave you with this thought:
Don't try to stop someone who is already doing the impossible!

Thanks, Denise. Yes, I remember and was just telling my husband that I can use both sides of the paper this morning.
Bought a really nice watercolor kit at Ross-Shop for Less on Hotel St. yesterday -- I think you folks have me hooked.
But, I will still do oil painting.

Excellent, Mary Lou
The only fault I can see at the moment is that the plate does not have the correct rounding on the left side - fix up the straight section.

I tried to correct the plate. The more I fiddle, the worse it looks. The trouble started with the shadows, then I lost the shape of the plate. Hope this is better.

Pretty good Mary Lou and you have rectified the shape of the plate very well. Patricia

It's been a while since anyone's posted their fruits! They all look great of course -
Decided to finally do this lesson - picking pineapples was my very first job (and the hardest in my life!).
Here's my revised - this lesson deserves a complete do over
