     Wow, Nina, you did an awesome job of the dragonflies.  The transparency of the wings are very well done, the colours are vibrant.  Excellent.  Patricia

My version after a major mishap from being careless...I'd just finished the thorax on the little one and somehow touched it with my finger and smudged both left wings on it even outside the outline of its body and it was NOT a happy accident!  I fixed it up as best I could so if that one looks a bit odd, that's why.  But the best part was that I was doing this outside on my deck and as I was painting, a REAL dragonfly came by as if to visit...I did get a photo and will post as soon as I figure out how to get it from my phone to here...might be a while!   :2funny: :2funny: He's probably telling all his friends to stay off that crazy lady's deck!

You have got to come up with something better than that story if you expect us to believe you had a not happy accident. Not a crime scene in sight!  :detective:   Love the face on this little fella

Nina and Mary your dragonflies look just awesome  :smitten: , love the fine details and Mary i just love the story of the dragonfly that came by. I love dragonflies and butterflies and made a lot of photo's of them. Only this year we didn't see many of them, just a few.

    Mary, a very good job, no sign of any smudging .... sometimes our mistakes loom bigger than life in our minds and are not discernible to anyone else. Good job.  Patricia

Mary, I love your little guy!  He's so cute!!    Although you wrote about your mishap, try as I might, I cannot see it.  Patricia is right.  We can readily see our own mistakes, but others will have to search high and low for them. Most of the time, they won't know about your struggles unless you tell them.  Good job here!!  :congrats:
Cheers,
Jani

Patricia and Jani - Thank you so much for your sweet comments and you're right...my eyes keep going right to the scene of the crime!  I was really horrified when it happened because it went right over the transparency of the wings (both) and over the line into the background...it was kind of like a double fingerprint.  LOL  But I walked away for a while after it and I got it to where it wasn't headed immediately to the garbage file!  I still want to do it again and thanks so much for your words of encouragement.   :thankyou:
