That's it Lillian! I'll combine the 2 scenes into 1 with a landscape summer scene behind the car. Like the car parked on a country lane. Yeah, I'm going for it Lilly Babes!  :yippee: :smart: :painting:

I'll post a progress report starting tomorrow (I'll tidy my kitchen table and tape a sheet of watercolour paper on my board. In fact, I might even use that pad of expensive Arches paper I got a while ago!)
I'm glad to be on the practical side of art now, after all my theory talk and no action!    :painting:

 • Believe you can, and you're halfway there.
Wonderful rendition of the painting, Tony.  I like your second one, too....gives me goosepimples ...it has that 'cold' feeling of winter. Put your first sky in the second one...wow.  You are really truckin right along!  Are these brushes synthetic or do they have hair, too?
Keep up the good work...looking forward to YOUR winter scene.

Bbbbbbbrrrrrrmmmmmmm, Bbbbbbbbbrrrrrrrmmmmmm..... Car, CAR, CAR...... take me for a ride in your car-car, take me for a ride in your car-car. Take me for a ride, take me for a ride, take me for ride in your 2.4 litre Ferrari with 4 wheel traction and torsion bar suspension...take me for a ride in your car-car.

 whew...sure glad I got that out of my system!  ;D So...guess what I think you should paint? I know, I know, it's a tough one!

Will have to see if I can figure out what it is.....Morgan keeps popping into my mind, but I'm not sure.....  :-\
That's a real beauty, can I have a go too?

No Val, you can't have a go. Girl racers are not allowed in my yellow mean machine! You'll throttle it to death woman! It needs a gentle hand. One that steers it along a gentile path and caresses it's every need. One that handles it with loving care and passion. A guiding hand along lifes rough roads and journeys of hell. A protector in the face of pot holes and tarmac Adams!
Ya see, Val, you have a lot to learn my dear Octopus Lady.  >:D

    :'( Anthony..... that's just plain heartless!  :'( OH.... the pain and cruelty!  :'( To be so mistreated, and misunderstood  :'( :'( :'( (Is he caving yet?)  drat.

My darling, this little gem should never be driven without gloves, white silk scarf, and of course the obligatory driving cap. Show some respect here. ooooooh to sink down in those aged leather seats and caress that lovingly polished wooden steering wheel, oh the thrill! Meet you at the corner?  ;) ;D

Erm, Vallareeee Fish Lady, you are revving up the wrong lane lady! You will soon tyre and get exhausted of your fantasies to take control of this mean beast of a machine!
Women are out of bounds darling! If you feel the need for speed, get to the Bumper Car arcade where you can let loose your desires of car crashes and bumper kissing! This yella-belly isn't for whimps. Only the leanest, meanest, killing machine beasts can partake in this edification!
Now if you are game, and want to be in touch with your masculine, testosterone, hormonal, Andronised fuel filled, turbo charged body parts then, join the clan baby 'cos it's all hands at the deck on this bad boy bitch of a car!

That's a classic British Morgan sports car. They still make them - one at a time. I believe there's a waiting list you can get on for one, you pay a deposit and wait like 5 years until they call you and tell you it's gue to be built. Many years ago a friend put his name on the list. By the time they called him he had a family and the Morgan wasn't the car he needed anymore. He made money when he sold his place in line!
You got to paint that one.

:yippee: Thanks Brian, I thought it was a Morgan! There you go Tony, confirmation. Do I know my cars or what?!  :2funny:
So now you must paint the car.  :knuppel2:

OH....don't forget to get your name on the list so it will be ready for Emily's sweet 16!

:thankyou:  Brian for that information ;) I didn't know what model it was and I'm glad to eventually get to know. It makes it all the more unique to hear about the ownership requirements!
I've started it already but, there's lack of detail in my photo so, I'll have to Google it to see more.
Thanks again ;)

(My keyboard stopped working! Arghhhhh!) Anyway, I closed the laptop lid to let it go into hibernation mode then, reopened it. That seemed to work as the keyboard is back on track!
I've made a start on the Morgan! Yes Val, you really do know your cars!  :yippee:
I may have to pick your brains for further details of the car because, my photo doesn't show some areas well enough.
I've chosen to concentrate on the car as the subject and I'll do the background as a subtle backdrop 'cos, I need to practice the landscape watercolour first.

Here's the preliminary sketch. I'm using a sheet from my Arches Watercolour paper pad. Now that was a right pain! It came covered in a black card-like sheet and black tape all round the edge with a space to slot a 'pallete knife' at the top. I tore the sheet and made a right mess before I ended up with any success!

Tony, your lovely Terry Harrison style winter scenes have inspired me to get his book. I found a second-hand one on Amazon.

Re the Arches board: I always paint directly on the top sheet that's on the board (no taping to another board or curling-up problems). Then, when my painting is finished, I gently separate the top sheet from the rest of the board with a palette knife, beginning, of course, at the notch at the top.

You got all the ellipses perfectly, that's always where I struggle with the motorcycle paintings.
Nice job.
