I'm so upset again. I must have use half tube of paint already on a sky (lighthouse).
What I'm doing is banding it so it's dark at top, then some mid in middle, then some lighter sky at bottom. I've wasted a ton of paint and so FRUSTRATED!
Everytime It's dry I'm doing it again.
When I blend the bands together, it comes out streaked no matter what i do. Some of the large brush i use is kind of "digging" and making lighter and darker areas...and it's not blending well at all. Before you know it, it's a total mess all over again, then dry, the do it again. Bad enough if is wasn't for the wasted paint.
Any suggestions? I want to throw this one away now, but if i do i'll reget that i didn't accomplish something and avoided it instead.
I could go to bed and sink into depression the rest of the day...but i am going to trash this and start different painting instead. It's 18 x24 and wasted so much paint. After some deep thought, i think it's because it was done on a board....it's smooth and slick..that brush will dig and streak more than a canvas would. Hopefully it's that reason, and not just something unknown.
The moment you find yourself mostly satisfied with a painting and think you'll "just quickly" do this or that, that's the moment to stop completely. Take the painting off your easel and put it aside for at least 24 hours, then reassess whether it really needs that tweak.
