Here's my berries sketch. My berries started out perfectly round, but they didn't stay that way.

I'm taking the course via CD.

:bigwelcome: alteredmuse! Now that's quite the handle!!  ;D Welcome to PB and the forum. Looks like you are already doing very well with the drawing course. Your shadings are coming on nicely, I would darken some of the shadow areas and shaded sections of the berries a bit more, that will give it a bit more dimension and have it popping of the page! Well done.
Cheers, Val

Very nice! Drawing circles is always fun. It will come in time with practice. :welcome: to PB.

:bigwelcome: to the course Mary

Very good berry drawing, lovely contrasts and shadings, well done.

Round objects do have a tendency to get away from you don't they. I usually try and start mine slightly smaller than what they need to be. That gives me room to fine tune their shapes at the end  O0

Thanks so much for the warm welcome! Thanks too for the helpful comments. I'll definitely try starting with smaller circles. 8-)

:welcome:  to Paintbasket, and the Let's Draw course, Alteredmuse!

Good job on the berry drawing in spite of it not being exactly like Nolan's

I simply traced Nolan's nice berry drawing and didn't have a problem losing the berries.  I printed his image from the documents that came with the CD's.

I'm having trouble convincing a friend of mine that tracing is not cheating.  She wants me to help her draw a picture she has and she's frustrated trying to get it right doing it freehand.  She has bought the CDs for the Let's Draw course but hasn't made the effort to make use of them.  She has lots of health issues, so I'm gently and patiently trying to encourage her.

Keep up the good work, Alteredmuse!  I'm looking forward to seeing more of your drawings!
