Dennis, Question, I have cad. red, but not light red. Also If I can not find Prussian blue when I go to Hobby Lobby what can be used? Because I will have to order it.

Nina I'm going to wing it with the colors I have and wait and see what Dennis' colors do before I purchase any more-I don't have 4 of the colors listed.

Don't go and buy too many. Here's why...... I needed 'light red' for something I was doing a few years back. I just happened to be in Martinique (where the art shop is  ) but they didn't have my usual brand. So, I thought I'd buy a different brand just this once. Well, there were two well known brands, both light red, but the colours are very much different. Since I wasn't sure which I needed...I bought both. Have hardly touched either one since....neither worked well for what I wanted. So....buyer beware, you may not get the colour you think you will. When I get the chance I'll buy the light red in my regular brand...niether of the other two is close to the light red of my regular brand. If you have a preferred brand, best to stick with it. You stand a much better chance of getting the colour result that you're after.

Please don't worry if you do not have the exact colours mentioned for the lesson. Just have 3 different kind of blues and 3 different kind of yellows. Even if you don't have 3 of each it does not matter at the moment, you can always fill the chart later on at your own time.

If you don't have light red then use burnt sienna. If you don't have prussian blue then use phthalo blue - get the message?

The idea here is to get some of the charts completed so that you can see how it is done and how it works. This lesson is a completely practical lesson and you will have charts for future reference. With time and practice you will use them less and less as you progress. This is actually an extension of the Lesson on Making a Colour Wheel.

This is exactly what I did for myself many years ago I had no one to teach me - had to puzzle all this out by myself.

I made a chart like Dennis'....Green for trees, foliage, and grass.  I have it right on the wall by my puter and always refer to it. This will be great to have more....the charts are so much easier and faster when your brain is asking...what the he** color green is that?  LOL

Mixing greens, I think, must be one of the most difficult of all the colour mixings for there are even books written about it.  So, thank you Dennis for walking us all through this important subject.  Much appreciated by us all, I am sure.  Patricia
