Hard to really see with this photo.
Try to take your photo as straight on as you can manage.
Crop out the background.
Take a look and see how others have posted theirs.

Doina:  :thankyou: for suggestion

~Natalie:  :thankyou: for comment. Maximize button shows enough shortcomings of the work but in the future I will try to remove what is superfluous.

Ilinca,

Nice work on the African man.  Maybe go a bit darker on the skin tone, looks pinkish from the photo.

Hi,

My African Man is here.

Bad or good?

Thanks for any comments.

Definitely good Ilinca! This was one of my favorite lessons. I love the strong features you created with this, part of his character I believe ... I had a hard time with the beard/stache and mouth, yours looks great! If you're looking to change anything, I also think a darker skin tone would make it even more awesome
Happy Painting!

You are so kind,  :):thankyou:

It's so nice and interesting, one sketch and so many variants of portrait.

Ilinca, valid comments about the whites of the eyes and the skin colour by the other members.  Fix them up and you will have a great painting

Oh, yes, Ilinca, this is much improved.  The darker skin and eyes make for a much more realistic look.
Be proud.  This is a good piece.
