Perhaps I have confused some of you buy using my "real" name, but yes, I am really the old Roxy!!
Here is something I was experimenting with just for fun. . .Coloured Pencils on Mylar Film. That's the stuff engineers and geologists and other professional types draw on. My hubby has a great huge roll of it lying around from his days of drawing maps, so I started playing with it and this is the result.
Since Mylar is a translucent plastic, you can put any coloured paper behind it and presto, you have a different BG. In fact, you can even draw on the back and draw in your own BG. . .slick eh?
I live to draw and paint, it a good thing that I don't have to draw and paint to live!

Hi Roxy,

That is some mighty fine detail work you've got going on there. O0

WOW!!  Awesome experimenting Bev!!....Roxy!!    An awesome job, and the detail is super. Looks like he'd fly right off the page.

:thankyou: :thankyou: :thankyou: THANK YOU to everyone; Val, Jill, Batman, Jennylynn, Zayn, Nolan and Bella!
I'm so happy that you all like my little experiment. He is actually the first in a series of three little birds I'm planning on doing. I hope the next two turn out okay. Mylar is quite fun to work on, as it has almost no tooth and the colours blend quite easily. It erases like a dream and will take a royal beating before it gives up.
I have to have something to occupy my time while I wait impatiently for January to get here and for Nolan's new classes to start. . . .what better way to pass the time? Sketch out a whole bunch of projects and then go for it!!!!

Bev/Roxy,

Wow, Double WOW!  Your little bird is so beautifully done - so delicate.  The pine (or is it spruce) on the branch is so nicely done, too.

I want more of these!!

:thankyou:  Denise. . there are about 5 different colours in that little head, and about 5 hours of work too! The snow might just be a shredded white napkin. . . . who knows!!!!! ;)
:thankyou:  Mea. . it's an evergreen tree of some sort and some very, very sharp pencils were used!!
:thankyou:  Lynn. . what a lovely thing to say!! Thank you so much!!!

   I have just seen this Chickadee Roxy!  Sorry, but you will always be fun loving, comical "Roxy" to me.  It is just too gorgeous for words and you have done a wonderful job. The detail is outstanding.  I hope that a Cardinal features somewhere in your next bird paintings.  They are so special to me for I love their brilliant colour. Lovely to see your work Roxy. It feels like old times.   Patricia
