Thanks all. I did start on a portrait but got sloppy about covering with a blank sheet. The result was that I dragged a lot of dark hair colour all over the face. I might have had a chance of recovery with my usual paper but I had chosen to try some Pastelmat paper which takes up the pencil much more easily than watercolour or print papers.

I shall try again at a later date.
