:heeha: Yay Jenny!  :yippee: What a wonderful drawing.  O0 I think the eyes (iris) may need a bit of adjusting. HIS right eye seems to be looking in the opposite direction from HIS left eye. The nose is just a wee bit elongated.

Great job for a first go.

I'm afraid I'm still waiting to get started. Have been working steady on boat's equipment, 4 winches stripped, cleaned and serviced today....3 more to go
Cheers, Val

Nolan, I have a question. I went in to the lesson to download the picture for reference. I right click on it, then clicked on print just like I do for the the watercolor lessons. When it printed it was so large that all I got was the eye and half the nose. How do I make it small to get the whole face?
Thanks

Thanks, folks!  I find thinking about what I'm doing is harder than just doing.  I'll work on the mouth part for a little while.  And take Denise's advice to find a way to identify my pencils faster and be better organized!   :)

Thanks, Val!  You have been there for me from the very beginning, that's why I call you 'Mother Hen' because you look over the brood, keep us together and give Dennis and Nolan and PB all your support.  You are indeed a precious friend!

But I still wish my grandchildren didn't grow up so fast.  My oldest grandson is 5'11'' and 16; I stand underneath his chin!  Actually only the 10 yr. old is shorter than me!  Should I  :'( or be  :) ?  I'll get some tea and work on my dog's face. . .

I'm so happy to see your dog, Jennylynn!   :flowers: :flowers: :flowers:
The more we practice, the better we'll get at drawing dogs! I like how you were able to set the eyes right; that was so important to do, and you did such nice shading of the fur!  I really like this sweet looking dog Nolan chose for a reference photo.

I think I'll go back to watch the first segment again where he patiently explains how to draw the dog.  Nolan gave so much detailed instruction in that lesson that I plan to take notes when I see it again!  :)

I saved it to my computer and it printed fine. Have you tried that?

Be happy for them Liz, they're healthy, happy and whole. You can't wish for more than that.  :)

Excellent job Jennylynn

I think what is making him look squint is the dark rounding inside the left eye and the highlight area in the right eye which makes those areas look like iris' Dump them and just highlight each in the same place to solve the problem.

I also see that your initial drawing lines are very hard and have scored the paper. When transferring try to press as soft as possible.

the watercolour templates are in pdf format. The reference pics for this course are images so that you can open them up in your photo editing software to zoom in and out.

When you click print you should either have a preview option or a "fit to page" option which you can tick
