I was SOOOOO excited to take this wonderful course Nolan and thought that I would submit my first drawing of a dog which I had to change slightly as the picture was not my own and I haven't completed watching all the lessons yet but was so eager to start it and implement what I had learned thus far. I have the nose/mouth and tongue lessons still to watch. I have enjoyed this immensely and all I can say to my fellow forum members is to give it a try for it is so interesting and informative.
Nolan if I may make a suggestion and that is, it would be a help if you could supply the photograph of the dog you are drawing so that we can have something to go by ... unless of course, I am missing the mark as to what you are wanting us to achieve but otherwise as I said, I am ecstatic about this course.
Thank you Nolan.
Patricia

Sharon thank you so much for your very encouraging comments and even if I say so myself, I was shocked at what I produced. O.K. it is off in many respects but this is my first try and I was just so excited to see what I could do with just a few lessons given by Nolan. I feel like a child again and just had to "show" everyone.
Sharon, I highly recommend taking this course for you will be so glad that you did. Believe me. I have learned things I never knew and was flabberghasted/excited/ecstatically happy all rolled up in one. A
very BIG THANK YOU TO NOLAN!!!

Oh! Denise, I was just so very impressed with the few lessons I saw that I could not wait to finish watching the series as I wanted to implement what I had learned right away!!! I have to go back now and watch the rest. You will LOVE IT, guaranteed. Patricia

OK Patricia, in your honor I've purchased the dog drawing course! Once I'm done with this wedding cake for the baker I'll put down the paint brush for a bit and pick up a pencil - can't wait to be able to paint Cabo!!

Great job Patricia!
There is a photo of the dog with the course. I have it printed out ready to start. As Nolan suggested, I printed a draft copy, and the best quality copy to reference from. This is exciting!

Maryna, it is a wonderful course.
Sharon, I am so happy that you purchased the course for you really won't be sorry, I promise. Oh! Yes, Sharon, you have a resident model in Cabo. Can't wait to see your drawings once your painting commissions are done.

Val, thanks for letting me know but where is the photograph for I looked and never saw it at all? However, as I said, I haven't finished the course yet, still got a few lessons to go. Another thing, we can't seem to get "Blue Tack" in North America. I see that it is freely available in the U.K. I guess we could use some substitute of which there should be many. I thought I saw you mention that you had printed out a copy of Nolan's dog on Liz's posts. Anyway, I am going to do my other lessons now so will take another 'gander'. Gosh, haven't used that word in ages!! Patricia

Looking great so far Patricia
Once you have completed the other lessons, you can come back and touch up the nose, etc.
The reference picture is in the Equipment Resources box (below the video)
What I would do with this drawing is shade in the background to define the dog's shape as well

Val, I found the reference photograph ... how the heck I missed it, I don't know. Must be having one of the many "senior" moments which seem to be so common these days!!! Anyway, thanks once again for your help. Patricia

Nolan, I thought about shading the background but now that I have found the reference photograph, I may go back and do that one. Am on my way to finish watching the series. Thanks once again for a FANTASTIC course. Patricia

Val, I understand that, but is it okay to get their permission and then the drawing or painting does not come out looking like their photo?
