and the best part is that there is still two more weeks to go Patricia. What you have at the moment is only week 1 of the course

Good on you Liz, you're ahead of me already! Still putting in some long days getting PJ ready to sail. She's been sitting far too long!
and I look forward to seeing your drawings

Thank you Zayn for your comments. I must say I am sooooo excited about this course as I have always wanted to learn to draw dogs.
Nolan I am nearly at the end of watching the lessons but time constraints are getting in the way!!! I am shocked to read that this is not the end and that there are two more weeks attached to this course ..... all this excitement is just too much for this old girl
.
Wow, what excellent value and
and Dennis for making this possible for us all. I am one "happy chappy" for sure.

Well, Nolan did not say how many pencils are in a set, does he?
Doina
Ahhh I never thought of that. . . . . very clever of you Doina, very clever indeed!!!

Very nice photo Liz! They're all looking at the camera too, not to mention behaving and sitting together..great shot!

The moment you find yourself mostly satisfied with a painting and think you'll "just quickly" do this or that, that's the moment to stop completely. Take the painting off your easel and put it aside for at least 24 hours, then reassess whether it really needs that tweak.

I have just finished watching the first 8 lessons of Drawing Dogs and I just LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it!!! Because I am a beginner, I so enjoyed the format as everything was spelt out and explained so clearly and explicitly. Nolan, I take my
to you for creating such a wonderful teaching video.
My daughter has a 200+lb Boerboel and I can't wait to draw him once I am finished with all the lessons.
Thank you once again Nolan. Patricia

Details
Since Patricia got us excited about the Drawing Dog Course, I decided to jump in, too and give it a try after watching just the first segment. Now I need to watch the rest to draw a dog properly! THANKS, NOLAN! YOU'RE THE MAN!

Thanks, Gals!
FYI the graphite shavings won't work well on bond paper.
I really suggest a drawing pad with some bite in it (or you can just use the side of your chisel pencil to LIGHTLY fill in the large areas.)
Having EXTRA pencils will help a lot, too! And make long chisel points, not short ones. Follow exactly how Nolan does his pencils! Hope that's helpful!
