:thankyou:  Dennis and Nolan for a very interesting class and I am looking forward to the next class with much excitement. Everything was perfect, sound, picture etc.   Wasn't sure how to use the chat box on You Tube for fear of getting into a muddle and missing out on the broadcast.  Nevertheless, enjoyed the chatting of fellow members.  Thanks once again for your generosity.

I was taken back as I didn't expect to be using U tube.  I do not go on U tube as I have my reservations about it's security issues!!!  I don't know about others but, U Tube is loosing many of its subscriber here in North America over their inability/unwillingness to control it's site.  I may have to wait until the free classes are over and the tv viewing returns to PB site.  Just my thoughts.

Patricia, same thing here. Toward the end I clicked on "sign in to chat". You have to sign in to Google/create new account if you do not have one. Once I did that, I was able to chat. I am not very happy. I do not like Google! Doina

I missed the chat, too. Had to sign in and it took the class away to do so, so didn't want to miss Dennis in the new class-room! (Love the vases, and all the colors in the new studio...even the drapes pull all the colors together.  Good job, Mel.)
Dennis...do you find it more difficult to paint with your paper up rather than the small tilt for water color? That's something that I will have to start practicing on!! Pastels "without a point" is hard to steer in the right place!!   :2funny:

Thank you for a wonderful class for this New Year.

Trust me, the whole you tube is NSA 'protected' very well  ;)
The same as all your e-mails and phone calls. Just don't give them any of the information they ask for and use a nick name if you want to.

So, Doina, I have to create a new Youtube account in order to use the chat???

i was signed in, but maybe that was the problem!  Hmmmm

I'm tech stupid!  :uglystupid2:  always afraid I will mess things up and then can't get out of the mess!!!

Would I need a different password for the new account?  Can anyone tell me how that works???

Lillian go to you tube, click on sign in, go to create account. Then put your name and a good password in. I did not use my name. Example my user name is jcmercy4me.
I don't like using my real name. Hope this helps.

You should not have to set up a new account if you already have one. :D

Lillian, I was signed in already at Pint basket, and I thought the same. But, at the end I realized that I need to sign in, to be part of the chat. It came the Google sign in page. You will have to create a Google account if you do not have one. I had a Youtube account, but was not accepted. I believe that Google bought the Youtube. If you have a Google account already, then you have to sign in with that account. Doina

I understand the premise of trying to drive more traffic to Paint Baskets site, it does make a lot of sense to attract a larger audience/ traffic flow.  I don't wish to be driven to a U Tube membership/signup. I thought PB members would be  accommodated on PB own site, obviously not.  I'll just wait until the replays or paid session become available.

I guess it's can be assumed that the free pencil classes will fall under the same format.  :'(

I maybe wrong,  however it was my understanding that only the free classes were being uploaded immediately to YouTube to save on bandwidth because of the number of viewers and that we would return to regular videos after the free period.

Jill is correct.

We obviously get many more people than normal attending the free classes than the paid, so running them directly off our Youtube channel serves two purposes:
1) We save on bandwidth costs
2) The purpose of the free classes is also so that we can be seen by as wide an audience as possible to help us grow the business. By running the classes directly off our Youtube channel, we dramatically increase our exposure.

You do not need a Youtube account to watch the free classes, so you can safely do that anonymously. You do however need a Youtube / Google+ account to use the Youtube chat box, but if you are trying to view anon, then you won't be posting anything anyway, so it doesn't matter.

To be perfectly honest, there is no way to do anything online that an agency like the NSA cannot see, whether you are on our website or on Youtube, Skype, email etc. I think the last thing the NSA is worried about is whether you are watching art classes on Youtube.

All our free classes will be run through our Youtube channel. The paid classes will run through our own system

:thankyou: Nolan and Dennis for a wonderful class.   It has opened up my 'eyes' to pastels.

As far as Utube is concerned I absolutely love it and have watched many video's that have been posted.   As for my information, I am sure they already have obtained it a long time ago somewhere, somehow, so now I just enjoy.

Looking forward to the next class or should I say classes.

O0 Nolan for the great quality of the picture and sound.   You have invested in new equipment so that we can have the best quality.        :thankyou: for spending your money on us  LOL LOL
