An excellent painting, Jill
Beautifully executed. Because it looks so "refined" were you "naughty" and used pastel pencils as well? If, you didn't then kudos for you
Everyone is not supposed to use pencils as yet, we will be soon.

Thank you Dennis. I don't own any pastel pencils. I broke some of my pastels into smaller pieces so I had a very sharp edge to work with.

Mea, you are very kind. It's all hard work for me. I don't find any of it easy. But I love to draw and paint.
Dennis, thank you one again.
Bev, than you too for your kind comments.

Trying to catch up on my missed lessons and this is my rendition of the Canna. I find working with the sticks a little difficult for it is hard to see where you are putting the pastels down especially in small areas. I used a tortillion to get into the corners and was itching to use the pastel pencils but could hear Dennis saying "no pastel pencils, they will come later" so I soldiered on and this is the result. Comments and critiques are always welcomed. Thank you. Patricia

May have to make a trip to get a dongle...will see.....

Lovely canna flower, Patricia.
That blue hue background is stunning and it's so smooth. That's hard to do with pastels, isn't it?

So much Val, Mea and Jill for your kind comments.
Val, I hope that you are able to get a decent reception for the internet so that you can do the lessons. Very frustrating I know.
Yes, Jill, it is lovely going away but so nice to come home too and to be back in the swing of things. I enjoyed the warmth of Florida for the time we were there. The weather, vegetation etc reminds me so much of Durban, my original home and I always feel very comfortable there. We have come back to so much snow. Oh! Well, it will soon be Summer.
